Thanks to the
support of a compassionate community, a
journey that began in 1997 is nearly over as
The Salvation Army finishes its fundraising
campaign for the expansion of Hope House,
our transitional shelter for the homeless.
With all funds raised, the Army will be able
to build Hope Village, 12 additional units
of family transitional housing, capable of
serving a minimum of 90 more children,
mothers and fathers (24 more families) each
year.
With
between 900 and 1,060 square feet, these two
and three
bedroom units will have their own kitchens
and bathrooms giving families a more
homelike environment, greater dignity and
privacy and most importantly, more
opportunities to learn life skills needed to
transition into permanent housing.
We couldn’t have done this without the
generosity of individuals, foundations and
businesses who stepped up to provide us with
the money necessary to construct our new
family units. We look forward to thanking
you in person at our ground breaking
celebration which will take place early next
year.
